We are sad to say that this will be our last post from the land of Aloha. The next (and final) Hawaii post will be one made from Charleston... where my friend,
Julie Young (you guys get well soon!!) says it's "hot chocolate and fuzzy slippers" kind of weather.... (sigh.)
Nonetheless, we've had an amazing time. The children and I have loved our time with mom and dad and they have, as usual, outdone themselves making us feel right at home with them. We couldn't have asked for a better vacation... except that we've missed Greg more than words can say - and as he's now off to Portugal for a few weeks, we have opportunity to miss him all the more as we return home to a very empty house. (sigh again.)
So - as we bid you a farewell (Aloha Oe) from sunny Hanalei, Kauai... we'd like to say thanks for travelling along with us on our journey... we hope the pictures and videos have brought smiles to your faces.. and although we have such a hard time leaving this place our hearts are connected to... we know, if only in our hearts, we will return. ALOHA!!
"Don't play 'Aloha Oe' when I go
For it tears the very tissues of my heart
There is mist upon my glasses as the ship from harbor passes
And it isn't very easy to depart
If the mountains seem a little vague and dim
It's the film before my eyes that blurs them so
Have a little human pity as I leave this magic city
Don't play 'Aloha Oe' when I go."
-from a poem by Berton Braley

Snow flurries predicted for Monday here, Tara. You need to find an excuse to stay in Hawaii longer!! This is crazy!! Praying for safe travels for you and the boys. It'll be nice to see you. Come on over for some hot chocolate.
Love the pic of Ethan and Brody sitting together in the sand watching the surf. Heart melting. Miss you friend.
