A Grateful Heart....

Somehow, Thanksgiving happened and I barely remember it. I can't really stand the way that, seemingly, there are no holidays for months and then BAM - there's Halloween (which we don't really celebrate aside from rOcktoberfest - yeah - we're one of THOSE families.) ;), and Thanksgiving which is always SOOO overshadowed by Halloween, and then Christmas. Now, don't get me wrong, I love Christmas - it's the reason I'm alive and have Hope for tomorrow, but WHY does all the world have to, in essence, skip over Thanksgiving... it's as if the only thing to be thankful for is that the Halloween candy is nearly gone and there is a weekend of amazing sales getting ready to happen. sigh.
Enough ranting... our Thanksgiving, although rushed like everyone else's, was truly fantastic. We celebrated with mom and dad at their house, ate copious amounts of food and had opportunities to do some really fun things with the children while we were there.... swimming, golf cart rides, playing with Gigi and Papa Doc, and on and on and on.
Throughout our November we had some precious family moments: We made "Turkey Cookies" (which Ethan claims he invented.... )

Just before Thanksgiving, Greg and Ethan had the opportunity to do two AMAZING things: 1) Our neighbor invited them to see the STAR WARS tour. Needless to say, the boys both loved it. Here's Ethan and Master Yoda....

and 2)Another BIG hit for the big boys was to attend the University of Florida game verses South Carolina in Columbia. The boys are HUGE Gator fans... so it was a real treat to get to go. Florida won... which made the event even sweeter for my boys.

November was filled with such joy, such great family time.... we are thankful, and know that "every good and perfect gift comes from above" (James 1:17). My cup runneth over.
