Guinea fowl?...

Ok - so I was in the back yard a few days ago and the dogs were on the porch and started going CRAZY.  I looked around the corner to find a large gray bird... I actually thought it was a small wild turkey.  The dogs staked their claim on the house and the bird ran off... there.  Done.  Or so I thought.

For the next 3 weeks Gertrude Guinea Fowl (not a turkey after all) visited my yard and terrorized my puppies.

Then, after talking to a farmer friend (who told me to eat her)... I decided that if I wasn't going to eat her, I either had to invite her to stay forever or capture her and relocate her somewhere else.  So, after some finagling by my husband and setting a trap with a dog crate... we got this :)

UPDATE:
I'm happy to report she is living happily in the next town North with a lovely family who reportedly did not eat her for Christmas.
