Operation New House....

Due to a fiscally-wonderful husband...we were recently able to refinance the house, get a great rate and get some much needed cash out.  With it, we have been able to re-do several things that have been needing done in our 15 year blessing of this house.  Laughingly, it was a bit like the book "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie", because of how things had to be timed....

It started with the roof.  Once that was done, we knew we wanted to re-do the hardwood floors.  If we do the floors, we need to do the wood on the stairs, if we do the stairs, we need to do the carpet, if we do the carpet we need to go ahead and move the boys into one room, if we move the boys, we only want to move the furniture out once, if we only want to move furniture once, we need to make the road trip to IKEA to get the new furniture, if we go to IKEA, we need to go this weekend, and if we go this weekend, they can do the floors....

:)

And so it began....

The hardwood downstairs got started...

Then we took the carpet off the stairs and the children drew pictures (just for fun):

We started painting the hand rails and end caps on the stairs...

Then we moved absolutely everything we owned to the bathroom, my office downstairs or to the garage so that the carpet could go in...

Then we made a trip to IKEA to get new furniture for the boy's room and
new guest bedroom (Brody's old room) ....

The new carpet went in... the new furniture went in... we had a garage sale to sell all the rest and SHAZAM (or so she says after WEEKS of blood sweat and tears).... Operation New House.  :)

We still have several major projects to do... but we are well on our way!  The Lord is good - and we are grateful for his provision in this way!  Here's to another 15 years in our house!!
