Just a few things I'm learning.....

It's absolutely no secret that my learning curve these last few months has been a sharp, hair-raising (or losing), white knuckle, severe, hold-on-tight and pray with everything you've got kind of curve. And believe it or not, I'm actually a bit more laid back at this point than I was 6 years ago. Here's some observations I've made recently:
  • Dishes can sit in the sink for up to 3 days before they start to smell.
  • Baby cereal, when grabbed, can fly out of a bowl so fast that it will make your head spin.
  • Baby cereal is the exact same color of my walls, but not my floor, hair, table or favorite outfit.
  • Diapers left in the back of hot cars overnight do not make good travelling companions.
  • Formula costs more than a college tuition.
  • Big brothers sometimes want to know who is the favorite kid.
  • Wet laundry can sit in the washer for up to 3 days before it starts to smell.
  • Friends are invaluable....but close friends help you remember to breathe.
  • Gaining 50 pounds - twice, and losing it - twice, is worth every stretch mark.
  • Babies' ability to spit up on a fresh outfit is uncanny.
  • Hope comes unexpectedly and will take your breath away.
  • Giving away maternity clothes is like getting your life back.
  • Trying to memorize what your baby looks like the last time he nurses will break your heart.
  • Hair, makeup, and cute clothes are overrated... but so much fun when you can pull it off.
  • Little boys need showers every day... even though they think they can go 3 days before they start to smell.
  • The sound of the garage door opening at the end of my husband's work day is the best sound I've ever heard.
  • "CRASH" +"Uh oh" coming from upstairs is the worst sound I've ever heard.
  • Babies can pull out more hair in a single grab than the best esthetician.
  • and finally, to quote a line from one of my favorite songs, "A New Day":

"If you're like me, (all) you need is Hope, coffee and melody."

I'm thankful He provides all three for me on a regular basis.

This could quite possibly be my favorite post. Very easy to identify T which means I am so blessed to have you in my life. If all else fails, we'll be bald, saggy, but have great shoes TOGETHER!

I am sooooo glad I am not the only one that leaves diapers in the car, clothes in the wash, and dishes in the sink sometimes. I love the list and got teary over the nursing comment. We love you.

I have no idea what you are talking about. I cannot relate to one single thing on your list, Tara. (If you could only see how long my nose is right now. He he! Truthfully, I giggled a lot.) Thanks for the laugh.

oh Tara..I have been thinking about you since our chat about wee Brodys eating struggles..I am guessing from your posts that things never came back around..You are a great mom..even one day of nursing is more than most moms give their children..Store up those memories and keep them in your heart:)

awe...that was great! one thing you may not know about me... I'm quite emotional. I cry at sappy commercials or a sweet list created by a great mom! Let the crying commence. :)
