Top of the Mornin' To Ya!

I've just returned from a glorious trip to Northern Ireland to visit my sister, Tori, and her precious family: her husband, Tre, and my nephew, Aidan, and niece, Elena. Brody and I left last Monday night and arrived on Tuesday to a whirlwind week of travel, entertainment, laughter and love. It had been over a year since I had seen my sister (a CRIME.) and even longer since I'd seen Tre and the kids.... they hadn't even yet met Brody!! The slideshow will tell most of the story... but it won't tell of:
  • the tears Tori and I cried at the airport (coming and going)
  • the looks on the children's faces when they met Brody for the first time
  • the way Brody learned to reach for Tori and Tre
  • the generosity of my family (the ones I left in SC and the ones in N. Ireland)
  • getting to have tea with Kathryn Scott - yeah, the gal that wrote "Hungry" and "Search Me Know Me" among many others.... (WHAT??!)
  • getting to go my sister's Vineyard church and hear Kathryn lead worship
  • the endless laughter
  • how Aidan and Elena lit up when Brody was in the room
  • Elena's Irish dancing and new-found Irish accent
  • Aidan working so hard to SMASH the 11+ exam
  • a bag of chocolates from across the street
  • three children with fevers/Roseola at three different times
  • Aidan's "Let Me Tell You What That Means" story
  • Banoffee Pie
  • "Friends" and "The Salvager" Marathons
  • hearts that had been broken by miles and distance and time - healed for a season

It was more than I could have asked for or imagined... I guess that's just what the Lord had in mind. Eph. 3:20-21.

b. Aiden and Elena are SO old - how did that happen?! (And seriously, Elena looks like she's fifteen! I can't believe how tall and grown up she is!!!)

c. I love you and can't wait to see you!

Well....I've just read the blog and seen the slide show and I'm not sure when my tears went from trickles to sobs....but it surely happened. I'm not ok...I'm going to have to go lay down now and try to recover. :( Thank you so much for documenting this. It's such a precious memory of our lives....and I know we'll always be grateful for it and never forget the time we had. I will try to focus on the positive....that we got to have that time together...and not that I miss you even worse now!!! Anyway....I love you and I love it that you blog...and do this for me since you know I won't do it.

I can't wait to show the kids and Tre.

Love you so so much,
Tori

Thank you for sharing this intimate time with your sister, Tre and her precious kiddos. I can't believe how beautiful the countryside is over there.
Is is just me or is Elena a perfect mix of Tori and Krista? She's so beautiful!!!
Love and hugs to you!!!
