And I thought 3rd grade was going to be easy....

We're alive. Sorry if you doubted - although it would be really amazing to be with Jesus at this moment..... (sigh.) :)
We are five weeks into 3rd grade and although Ethan is doing an AMAZING job, Mommy is not quite making the grade!! Third grade is TOUGH - I'm having to teach (learn): Latin declensions, fractions and multiplication, 3 syllable spelling words, classifying grammar sentences, historical characters from the Old Testament, solids, liquids and gasses - - and that's all before lunch! I keep reminding Ethan I only taught first grade, so I'm only required to know things up to that point... (he thinks that's funny - go ahead, laugh - it'll make your face look better.)
Meanwhile - did I mention I have a VERY active toddler?
It's a good thing I can drink coffee, have a one armed light saber fight and discuss Latin derivatives all at the same time.
To catch up - we ended our summer with an AMAZING trip to Disney with Mom and Dad and since then have been getting back in the flow of things with school and work. Greg's been to LA with the USWNT and is headed off next week to be with them overseas. (I'm so proud of him.) Ethan has started club soccer - yes, my little Wayne Rooney is the leading goal scorer for the U10 Cainhoy Athletic Mustangs. (I'm so proud of him.) Brody gets funnier every day... mom says he's just like me at that age (I'm so proud of him. ) :)
I'll post a few pics.. Disney, soccer, general cute kid stuff... there also just might be one of a brunette... (see if you can figure out who that one is.)

Your post made me laugh. I started off tutoring 1st-3rd graders...those kiddos grew up & now they are middle school & high school students. Middle school math & high school reading are really hard & some of my most educated neighbors call me to help with their kids homework. Makes me look at teaching from a different perspective too. I have an account that tells me who looks at my account: where they live, how long they stay on it, bla bla bla. You would be SHOCKED at how many people read blogs!

Can't wait to see your Disney pics! If you ever want Leah and I to come over and entertain Brody so you can work with Ethan, let me know. Or feel free to bring him over to our place!
