Today, my bestie moved to Atlanta.
| That's my Julie I've got a death grip on.... |
Julie and I met when Ethan was four... we both had only children - content (at the time) with that, and over dinner one night at her house on Hubble Drive, our hearts miraculously knit.
Since then, we've been pretty much connected at the hip. We don't see each other everyday, but we have an easy, beautiful friendship: picking up where we left off no matter the span of time. She has a sweet devotion to the Lord that is such an inspiration to me. She is my best friend, spiritual sister and parenting mentor.
Ethan and her Hannah have been peas and carrots since day one....
Not much changed when Brody came along, other than the fact that Julie was letting me do all the baby stuff first, since God had an adoption plan up His sleeve for them!

| Along came Emily to round out their family... |
And now... they are headed out on a new adventure with the Lord to a place called Atlanta. Ironic that she would land in the place I'm from.
(We're even connected in our coming and going :)
I'm going to miss shutting down Starbucks with her. Laughing over the hundreds of things we have in common. Late night chats and dark chocolate binges. Her love for all things pink, candles, books, and Georgia Bulldogs. I'm going to miss lunch at Ali Baba, her 3 hour "I'll call you back" rule and the uncanny way she knows how to finish my sentences, quiet my impulses and speak words from the Father's heart right into mine. She "gets" me (and still loves me anyway). :)
Best friends are hard to come by... so, Atlanta, I've got a strong word for you. Julie is headed your way but I'm not giving her up to you - she's is just on loan.
(But, man, are you in for a treat.)
I love you, sister... I'll see you soon!!
Phil. 1:3
A friend knows the song in your heart and can sing it back to you
when you have forgotten the words.
(Thank you for singing so beautifully and faithfully for so long.)

Amen is all I can think of ... the entire Miles family will be missed and you are so right on Tara, Atlanta is in for a treat!
Tara, what a beautiful way to honor your friend. Such precious words from your heart!
I can't breathe! I found the tears again...and I am so honored by your sweet words. I will carry them always on my "long vacation" in Atlanta-I love you so.....
So so sweet....
I think that we have met Hannah while Leah was over playing with Brody. If I remember (and I think I have pictures of them playing) the big kids were so sweet and were helping the little ones out. You will be making lots of trips to Atlanta now! :)
